Reasons for Joining
You may be surprised to know that local history is abuzz with new discoveries. These are made by people interested in their own family, a house or street, or just generally curious about the past. Joining gives you access to the sources you will need to delve into, help when you encounter a problem, and an appreciation of how your own particular interest fits in with the general picture.
Members of the group each have a research project which they are pursuing, and as they are completed the articles are posted on this website.
We meet regularly on Tuesday afternoon (2.00 pm to 4.30 pm) at Sutton Coldfield Library, when members come as frequently as they choose and continue with their research project. Occasionally, the group holds field trips, visits to places of local interest and public lectures. Members receive regular emails with up to date information regarding issues affecting the group.
