Sutton Coldfield's Lost Stations

Sutton Coldfield used to have three stations and they were all close together. Opened in the 1800s, one closed in the 1920s and another fell victim to the Beeching axe. Now only one remains. But where were the others?

Sutton Park Miniature Railway

This is a 12 minute short film from approx 1960 of the miniature steam railway in Sutton Park near Birmingham. This site was operated by the Pat Collins amusement company for many years as a static amusement park, and they also operated the steam miniature railway.

1931/32

This link above will take you to a website set up by Ed Britton which gives access to some old videos of Sutton Coldfield. One, in particular, from 1931/32 relates to his grandfather, Percy Britton, who was Lord Mayor of Sutton Coldfield at that time.  Sydney Stray's tenure as a council officer is also featured.
