Armed with leaflets for information
We began our village exploration

With much to see, the list was extensive
Albeit extremely comprehensive

Where every building told a story
From mighty mansions in all their glory

To tiny terraces, cottages small
The Cenotaph, Oddfellows Hall

Sturdy houses built to last
All reflecting Shenstone’s past

The Old Tower currently being restored
With so much history to be explored

In spite of the heat which was simply intense
The wealth of interest was immense

We returned to the library to enjoy a cream tea
Being made very welcome, I’m sure you’ll agree

The library’s dedicated team
Served strawberries, jam and clotted cream

The scones could not have tasted finer
And all was served on dainty china

A further highlight to end the day
In Shenstone on the latest foray
